Hoping to improve your health? Lacking energy in your day-to-day life and hoping to reignite your zest for life? Looking to lose weight, get your cholesterol under control, or simply infuse more fruits and vegetables into your diet? Have you recently watched a documentary about juicing or heard about your colleague’s latest juice fast?

Whatever the reasoning, it is clear that you are looking to purchasing a juicer. Otherwise, why would you be here? Maybe you’ve had a juicer in the past, but found that it wasn’t quite the right fit for your needs. Perhaps you are completely new to the world of juicing and need more than just product reviews; perhaps you need information to help you decide which type of juicer is best for you. This is especially true if you were unaware that different types of juicers even exist.

This website has been designed to help you meet any of those goals. The bulk of this website is made up of product reviews for centrifugal, masticating, and citrus juicers, and we’ve used allthestuff’s top rated juicing machines as a reference. Their reviews are always fair and objective, so there’s no reason for me to re-invent the wheel.

What I will add, though, is information to help get you started, along with links to those informational pages you may need to help you narrow down your search. You will also find links to my own product reviews for centrifugal, masticating, and citrus juicers, along with my top three choices for each of those categories.

My Top Three Choices

Of course, I cannot simply choose three juicers as my top choices and call it a day. There are multiple kinds of juicers listed on this website, each designed to meet different needs. Each of these types deserves its own category and its own top three list. Below are my top three choices for centrifugal juicers, masticating juicers, and citrus juicers.

Top Three Centrifugal Juicers

In my opinion, a great centrifugal juicer is one which features a high-wattage motor and multiple speed settings. The best ones also include important safety features, such as locking lids and overload sensors.

The following choices were made based on the following criteria: popularity, price, consumer reviews, motor wattage, speed settings, special features.

Overall Best: Breville BJE820XL Juice Fountain

I have never been as impressed with a centrifugal juicer as I am with this one. In fact, I am surprised that I am this impressed, considering that I am really not a very big fan of centrifugal juicers. Still, if I had to choose one to purchase for myself, it would be the Breville BJE820XL.

This juicer’s five speeds mean that you can easily adjust the speed setting to match the type of food you are attempting to juice. I love the built-in overload protection safety system which turns off the motor if sensors detect that it may be overheating. I do not think that it is all that necessary, though, since the incredibly reliable and strong 1200-watt motor should be able to easily handle any of the tasks you assign to this juicer.

Best Value: Cuisinart CJE-1000 Juice Extractor

Although I wasn’t able to award this juicer the top position of “Best Overall,” I didn’t feel that I could complete this Top Three list without including it somewhere.

The Cuisinart CJE-1000 is a very impressive juicer, especially for its price. This five-speed juicer can be customized to fit your juicing needs depending upon the density of the fruit or vegetable you are working with. It features a unique foam management system designed to provide you with more juice than many other competitors by reducing foam and turning it into juice. This juicer’s large 2-liter pulp collector and LED display also place it ahead of similarly-price competition in terms of additional features.

I am slightly surprised that a juicer made this list without being manufactured by one of the big names in juicing (such as Breville or Hamilton Beach). However, although Cuisinart is not a huge name in the world of juicers, they are a very reliable company in many other arenas and have a great reputation for quality products and customer service.

Best Re-manufactured: Breville RM-BJE510XL 900 Watt Five-Speed Juice Fountain

Throughout my research, I was surprised to see that some of the most popular top-selling centrifugal juicers on the market were not brand new but were, in fact, ones which had been re-manufactured after having been returned to the manufacturer. I cannot, in good conscience, actually give a “Best Overall” or even a “Best Value” spot to a re-manufactured appliance, but I do believe it warrants a place in this list.

The Breville Remanufactured 900 Watt Juice Fountain line has undergone a very in-depth re-manufacturing process, whereby Breville tested, fixed, cleaned, and retested each juicer before putting it back out for sale. Each Remanufactured Juice Fountain is sufficiently reliable enough to handle most juicing tasks. It also boasts Breville’s standard safety features, including overload protection. What impressed me the most about this juicer is that it received almost identical consumer rankings to the brand new, non-refurbished version of itself.

Top Three Masticating Juicers

As in my research for centrifugal juicers, my research on masticating juicers brought forth some clear consumer favorites. My choices for the top three masticating juicers have been based partially on this data as well as on other factors such as price, speed, and extra abilities.

Overall Best: Tribest SW-2000-B Slowstar

I must say that I quite surprised I ended up placing a vertical juicer at the top of this list. When I set out to write this website, I expected that a tried-and-true horizontal masticating juicer would take the position of ‘Overall Best’ in the masticating section. Instead, here I am giving the Tribest Slowstar vertical juicer the top spot.

The Slowstar took top position because it appears to have all the advantages of other masticating juicers with addition of working faster. Many people turn away from masticating juicers because they take so long to accomplish their tasks. This Slowstar speeds up the process while still providing enzyme-rich juices, making healthier habits accessible to more people – even those with incredibly busy schedules. This juicer does not feature the special abilities of some other masticating juicers, but I truly believe its strength and speed are worthy of giving it this ranking.

Best Value: Omega J8006 Nutrition Center

The Omega J8006 appears to be a very well-built piece of machinery. It has received excellent feedback from actual consumers and has been applauded for its reliability. What really makes this juicer stand out are its additional nozzles and its price.

While many other masticating juicers are also able to create nut butters, sorbets, and salsas, the Omega J8006 is capable of making pasta as well. Thanks to the set of specialized nozzles which have been included with this juicer, creating homemade pasta has never been so easy. You can purchase these types of attachments for some other juicers, but very few actually include those attachments “out of the box”. This Omega juicer is available for an impressively low price, especially considering the inclusion of these attachments.

Best Vertical: Tribest SW-2000-B Slowstar

I suppose you probably saw this coming, considering that this juicer also took the position of “Overall Best.” In my own defense, I planned to include a Best Vertical juicer long before I realized a vertical juicer would actually find its way into the position of “Overall Best.”

Obviously, I have named the Tribest Slowstar the “Best Vertical” juicer for the same reasons I named it the “Overall Best” juicer. I am very impressed with its ability to work at a noticeably faster speed than other masticating juicers. I am equally impressed with the positive reviews it has received from actual consumers.

Top Three Citrus Juicers

Citrus juicers are, generally, rather inexpensive, though some can be rather pricey. My approach to selecting the top three citrus juicers was to include three which existed across this range. It is my opinion that you often get what you pay for when it comes to appliances; therefore, some of the best citrus juicers will be the most expensive.

At the same time, a citrus juicer needn’t perform difficult tasks and, thus, does not need to be an extravagant piece of machinery to perform its basic functions well. I wanted to include the best of the best, as well as the best citrus juicers for average people interested in spending an average amount of money for a product which performs average tasks well.

Best Overall: Breville 800CPXL Stainless Steel Motorized Citrus Juicer

I was shocked when I found a citrus juicer made almost entirely from stainless steel. The Breville 800CPXL has to be one of the most durable citrus juicers every created. I would guess that you could drop it without worrying about parts breaking off, though I wouldn’t advise testing my theory. This juicer also features two different filters, which will allow you to vary its pulp flow. Consumers have given this juicer incredibly positive reviews, which only increases the degree to which I am impressed with it.

Unfortunately, the price of this juicer makes it rather inaccessible for many consumers. If you are in search of a well-built average-priced citrus juicer, you may want to continue looking. Still, this is the perfect gift for someone who is serious about his or her citrus juicing or for the person who has it all.

Best Value:
Maximatic ETS-401 20 Ounce Citrus Juicer

This well-built juicer will easily meet your needs and is extremely budget-friendly. Available for less than half the price of many other comparable juicers, this Maximatic juicer has received rave reviews from many consumers who describe themselves as very happy with its performance. Apparently, its low price and mostly plastic makeup do not affect its ability to get the job done right.

Best Multi-Reamer: Dash Dual Citrus Bar

I must admit that this is not the best or the smallest citrus juicer available on the market. Also, I was slightly disappointed to find out that it did not, in any way, resemble a bar. I suppose I pictured it as having a large storage basin and easy-flow spouts you could open and close to fill glasses with juice throughout the course of a party. Essentially, I suppose I pictured some sort of citrus juice keg with a juicer attached to the top.

Still, as multi-reamer citrus juicers go, this one is rather impressive. Not only does the Dash Dual Citrus Bar feature two reamers to get the job done twice as fast, it also features a special built-in slicer. Placing you fruit in the slicer and pulling down on the lid cuts it in half without you having to struggle with cutting boards, knives, or sticky fingers.

Quick Considerations

Before jumping in too far, you may want to take a few quite moments to define what it is you want from your juicer. Otherwise, you could find yourself aimlessly searching around reading product reviews for juicers which aren’t designed to fit your needs. More information about each of the following topics is available in this website’s information pages, but here is a little bit to get your started.

What Benefits Are You Looking For?

Whether pursued short-term in the form of a cleanse or long-term as part of your daily routine, there are many different health benefits to juicing. Some people choose to go on juice fasts to jumpstart their immune systems and metabolisms after a period of eating poorly. Some people choose to drink fresh juices as an addition to their regular diet or as part of an overall healthier eating strategy.

No matter what your goals may be there is a juicer out there for you, designed to help you achieve those goals. Still, it can be beneficial to consider your goals before purchasing your juicer. For example, is one of your goals to increase your intake of leafy greens? If so, a citrus juicer is definitely out of the question and a centrifugal juicer may leave you disappointed.

Use the informational page about the health benefits of juicing to help define your goals, then pair that information with the information included in the section about the differences between centrifugal, masticating, and citrus juicers to help you decide which type will best fit your needs.

Know The Difference Between Juicer Types

In the informational article about the differences between centrifugal, masticating, and citrus juicers I outline the key differences between these three types of juicers in an effort to help you decide which is best for you. It is important to know the differences between these three types of juicers, because all three work in different ways and each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Centrifugal Juicers – Major advantages of centrifugal juicers include the fact that they work very quickly, they are relatively inexpensive, and they are able to break down most types of fruits and vegetables. Major disadvantages of centrifugal juicers are that they cannot break down leafy greens very well, may destroy enzymes in your food, and make a lot of noise.

Masticating Juicers – One major advantage of masticating juicers is that they protect the enzymes in your food. Also, they are able to break down leafy greens without a problem. Masticating juicers also yield much more juice than centrifugal juicers. Unfortunately, masticating juicers can take a very long time to accomplish their tasks and are often very expensive.

Citrus Juicers – Although rather inexpensive, citrus juicers are only capable of extracting juice from citrus fruits, making them a highly specialized appliance. If you predict needing to use your juicer for any other type of fruit or vegetable, you may want to consider purchasing a different type of juicer.

Are Extra Features Important?

There are a multitude of extra features available with any of the three types of juicers. For example, some centrifugal juicers feature sensors which turn off the unit’s motor if it appears to be growing too warm. Some citrus juicers feature built-in slicing mechanisms. Like most extras in life, these special features often come with a price tag. It will be your decision how much each of these features matters to you as you search for your perfect juicer.

It is always helpful to create a list of the features you desire before you begin your search, so that you may compare your list with the products you find. For more information on the types of special features available in each type of juicer, visit my page on extra features.

Do You Even Know How To Juice?

It is okay if you don’t have a clue what you are doing. This website has been designed to teach you more about the juicing process as well as juicing appliances. Many juicers come with very detailed instructions about how they are best used. Some even come with recipe booklets to get you started.
I have included a few of my favorite juice recipes on this website as well, and for even more recipes I always recommend this website or this one.
